Introduction to Golf: our advice from the practice to the course!
Now that you know how to speak like a real golfer and on which spot to start, we give you some advice to progress. If seasoned golfers can quickly challenge themselves on the course, as a novice, we advise you to spend some time at the driving range before you start. Here are our 3 tips to prepare you well before hitting your first balls on the green or the fairway:
Switch clubs between swings rather than chaining shots with the same club. On the course, you will have to alternate shots with a wood (or driver), an iron, a putter... So you might as well practice!
On the driving range, no hole on the horizon! Set a target anyway to practice aiming and assess your trajectory and accuracy.
Create your routine! It's a kind of series of automatisms that you will reproduce with each shot. Choosing the club, getting behind the ball, looking at the target, adopting a particular posture, making a test swing… So many mechanisms that will become your signature and help you concentrate at each stage of the course!
Good to know to learn golf in northern Brittany:
- Very often, the reservation is not necessary if you want to train at the driving range.
- However, it is preferable to book if you want to hit the ball on the course!
- Don't have any equipment? Most golf courses provide you with clubs, balls and cart for your initiation.
