About us

From the parking lot of Port Saint Géran, a magnificent panoramic view is offered to you on the Bay of Fresnaye.

It is enough that the tide is low to see rows of stakes appear, the "bouchots" being used to raise the mussels as well as the oyster beds.
Appearing in the 60s, local shellfish farming contributes to the economic development of the territory and arouses growing tourist interest.
Some oysters produced in the bay win medals every year at the agricultural show.

The Baie de la Fresnaye is also a crossroads for migration which attracts a great diversity of birds each year.

While waders (redshank, Eurasian curlew) with slender legs and beaks, look headlong for crustaceans or worms; the anatidae (brant goose), rump in the air and head in the water, graze on the plants of the salt marshes. Not far away, gull opportunists (gulls, seagulls, etc.) remain on the lookout for the slightest food to steal.

Starting point for hiking to Fort la Latte or to Château Serein beach. Free parking. Attention, car park not accessible to buses and motorhomes.
