Nestled in the wild and unspoiled setting of the Emerald Coast, Anse du Croc beach, near Pléhérel-Plage in the commune of Fréhel, offers a peaceful getaway for lovers of nature and seascapes. This crescent-shaped beach, approximately 800 meters long, invites you to fully immerse yourself in a unique natural environment. Bordered by a vast dune area, it reveals a spectacular panorama of Cap Fréhel, renowned for its raw beauty and imposing cliffs.
How to get there
Anse du Croc beach is located near the hamlet of Pléhérel-Plage, accessible by car via the D34 from Fréhel. Once there, free car parks make parking easy. For those who prefer public transport, bus access is available only in July and August via line 2 (Saint-Brieuc > Erquy > Saint-Cast) with a stop at La Chapelle or the Campsite.
Hiking enthusiasts can also reach the beach via the famous GR34 trail that runs along the coast. Several routes are accessible from Pléhérel-Plage:
Pléhérel-Plage > Cap Fréhel: 6,5 km – approximately 1 hour 45 minutes of walking
Pléhérel-Plage > Sables d'Or: 5 km – approximately 1 hour
Pratical information
The Anse du Croc beach is supervised in summer with a first aid station, a Tiralo chair for adults is available for people with reduced mobility; inquire at the first aid station. Toilets
Animals are prohibited on the beach between May 1 and September 30, from 9 a.m. to 21 p.m.
For longer stays, the nearby municipal campsite offers 900 pitches and is open from April to September. It has direct access to the beach, perfect for those who want to fully enjoy the surrounding nature. Accommodation is also available in the Vieux Bourg de Pléhérel.
In season, a straw hut set up on the sand offers refreshments and snacks, perfect for a gourmet break with your feet in the sand.

Anse du Croc beach is an ideal place to relax, but also a fragile site that deserves our full attention. By respecting the dunes and staying on the marked trails, you will contribute to the preservation of this natural jewel. Photography lovers will find exceptional spots here, especially during sunsets or in slightly rainy weather, where a rainbow can appear above the sea.
