An urban stroll in a spa town on the banks of the Arguenon river.

This walk will make you discover the richness of the heritage of Plancoët. You will be amazed by the maritime and built heritage and the architectural details of this pretty flowery town between sea and countryside.

The origin of the name Plancoët would come from the Breton “plaen” flat and “coët” forest but for Marie-Paule Salonne, a poet from Plancoët, “plan” would mean Country, or Plancoët: Country of Wood!

The plancoëtin heritage is very rich, and it is to be linked with the Arguenon, a river which flows into the sea at Guildo. Arguenon comes from the Breton Ar Guenon: the white river, because its bed fills with each important tide of a white and natural foam.

Apart from a staircase, the route is passable by stroller.
