Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer

About us

  • Pet Friendly

Saint Jacut de la mer recounts its maritime past.

The Village-rivages association invites you to discover the history of the peninsula, whose economic and social life has always been closely linked to the sea.
A documented and innovative evocation of the past and present life of this jewel of the Emerald Coast, through two complementary installations:

- La Maison du Pêcheur (former Ecomuseum), reception and information area, installed in the house of one of the last professional fishermen of Saint Jacut de la mer. It presents, through various wall panels and videos, the the lives of fishermen and the different types of fishing that have followed one another for almost a millennium.
It also offers, in a playful and educational approach, a discovery booklet of the emblematic places of the peninsula "Les carnets de Zéphirine".
The Maison du Pêcheur is open all year round according to a program indicated on our site "village-rivages.org".

- A heritage trail consisting of 7 interactive terminals (by QR codes) indicated in the form of oars/totems and arranged in the center of the peninsula. This course is carried out independently or can be the subject of group support by members of the association.

- Support for the heritage discovery of the village and the Island of Ebihens"

Village-rivages is a member of the "Heritage" commission of COEUR Emeraude, which brings together the cultural and associative actors of the territory of the future Rance Valley/Côtes d'Emeraude Regional Nature Park.
