Bay of La Fresnaye

Saint-Cast-le-Guildo

About us

From Cap Fréhel to Saint-Cast-le Guildo, walk the GR34 customs trail and enjoy magnificent views as well as wintering birds from October to March. 6 km deep, it is guarded by an impressive belt of cliffs.

This bay takes its name from the ash trees that once bordered it. The discovery of tree trunks and fossilized roots leads scientists to say that the bay of La Fresnaye was invaded by the sea, certainly at the beginning of the XNUMXth century.
A century later, the Normans landed there, followed in the XNUMXth century by many pilgrims from England or the Nordic countries. They are welcomed by the Templars who escort them to holy places.
