Hunaudaye Castle

Pledeliac

About us

The Château de la Hunaudaye located in Plédéliac is a fine example of medieval architecture in Brittany.

This fortified castle, the construction of which began around 1220 at the instigation of Lord Olivier Tournemine, was undermined around 1340 during the War of Succession of Brittany and then rebuilt. The Tournemines continued to expand their possessions, making Hunaudaye a very powerful seigneury.
Burnt down during the French Revolution, the castle benefited from numerous restorations in the XNUMXth century.

Let yourself be guided through the five towers of the Château de la Hunaudaye and discover the small history of the place as well as the great history of the Middle Ages. It is also to discover a fortified castle as one imagines it with its moats in water and its drawbridge. The visit takes the old walkways to better understand the defensive system and the seigniorial dwellings.

This castle is an ideal destination to discover the Middle Ages with the family!
