The extensive 130-kilometre network of footpaths, cycle trails and greenways will delight both seasoned and budding hikers and cyclists. Want to stay on the coast? That’s no problem at all! Prefer the countryside or river banks? Then we have something for you too!
Want to get outside and enjoy the fresh air? Then why not explore the destination and its wide variety of landscapes!
To explore the coastline, follow the well-maintained GR 34® coastal path or customs trail. If you are up for it, you can even go all the way around Brittany! With its red and white strip waymarks, the path often hugs the cliffs to reveal unexpected views and stunning panoramas. Set off in spring to enjoy the flowering heathland and heather on Cap Fréhel, or wait until autumn to watch the wild seas! The trail also follows the bottle green waters of the Emerald Coast, from the Saint-Jacut de la Mer peninsula to Fréhel and passing through Saint-Cast-Le Guildo.
Further inland, you can follow the GR34c® trail along the banks of the Rance between Dinan and Dinard and explore one of the most remarkable estuaries in Brittany.
If you have a bike, you can pedal along the region’s cycle trails and greenways. Follow the old railway line between Dinard and Dinan harbour (V2-V3) and then continue your trip along the canals to Rennes (V2) or the legendary forest of Brocéliande (V3). If you want to continue along the coast to western Brittany, the V4 is just what you are looking for!
Cutting through forests and the open countryside, the paths and circular trails in the Rance or Arguenon valleys are popular with ramblers, cyclists and even horse riders.
