From the Château de Dinan to the Abbaye de Léhon

Dinan

About us

  • 5,2 Km
  • Easy-to-use

From the historic center of Dinan to Léhon, Small City of Character then to the port, this walk shows the essential faces of the city of Art and History. The route of around 5 km combines a city atmosphere, the banks of the Rance and greenery. Along the canal, Léhon conceals architectural treasures with the Abbey of Saint Magloire, the medieval castle, the narrow streets lined with beautiful houses and the old bridge that spans the Rance...

After going down a few steps from the rue du château, you reach Place Jean IV where the tower-residence of the Dukes of Brittany stands. We join the towpath by the impasse Saint Louis which is extended by a grassy path. Steps on the right descend towards the Ille-et-Rance canal... The route continues along the canal and reaches the small town of Léhon. After crossing the Rance by the bridge, the return is made by the bike path which runs along the canal on the other side. We reach the port of Dinan then we go up towards the historic center and its many monuments by the rue du petit fort then the rue du Jerzual.

Warning: the path can be slippery in rainy weather.
