Disconnection in the countryside around Dinan
Slow down to better feel... Far from the buzz of cities or beaches, we take a break for a day surrounded by nature in the countryside around Dinan. Hikes, visits to archaeological sites, water activities… everything to appeal to young and old in search of meaning.
Morning: visit to the time of the Gallo-Romans
We go back in time and we go exploring Corseul, former Gallo-Roman capital, and its numerous remains, as well as the archaeological collections exhibited at Coriosols, the Heritage Interpretation Centre. And to see other remains, go to Gallo-Roman Villa at Quiou.
On the way, a stop at Plancoët is a must, located on the banks of the Arguenon. Known for its source, Plancoët is also the ideal place to take a break and take a walk. Head to the Parc du Pré Rolland! Departing from the quays of Plancoët, for about 7 km, the wild estuary of the Arguenon awaits us for a canoe or kayak trip.
Afternoon: we go green!
Want to explore the territory on foot? We discover 2 100% nature hikes.
- The “Chemin des écluses” hike in Calorguen (1h30): crossing pretty villages with picturesque hamlets and stroll along the Ille-et-Rance canal and its charming locks.
- The “Nature Journey to the Land of the Faluns” hike (1h00): along the old railway line, to discover the “Land of the Faluns”, a name due to the sea of the faluns which bathed Brittany millions of years ago.
And to link walks and nautical activities, nothing better than the Bétineuc Leisure Center in Saint-André-des-Eaux, near Evran. Walkers will delight in the pond tour (3km) and for kayak and catamaran enthusiasts, go to nautical center. To cool off a little, there is even a small beach and a restaurant (depending on the season).
