4 secret natural sites in Brittany

The Prat mill

📍Vicomté-sur-Rance

Located on the banks of the Rance, this tide mill from the 15th century is a real hidden treasure. Unique in Rance today, this mill which used the force of the tide to turn its millstone, ceased its activities in the 20s. You can now attend the milling demonstrations, with Michel or Jean-Yves, and discover the ingenuity of the craftsmen of the time. Not far from there, the ports of Hisse and Lyvet offer pretty panoramas, with their plaice fishing huts, witnesses to the maritime history of the Rance Valley. This type of fishing was formerly practiced between the Châtelier lock and the Taden plain. If you are passing through Saint-Samson-sur-Rance, don’t miss the Thiemblaye menhir, classified as a Historic Monument!
