A day on the water
During our holidays in Dinan, it's decided, we're going to make a ride on the Rance with family ! Cruise, kayak, hat and sunscreen in the bags, let's go!
Departure from the port of Dinan
In the morning, we meet at port of dinan in order to find the boat on which we embark for the ride on the Rance. For children, it's a first on board a ship: you can imagine their excitement!
As soon as we arrive, we are welcomed by one of our guides. Entrance tickets punched, we finally set foot on the ramp that leads us to the boat.
In the shade for some and in the sun for others, we decide to sit at the front of the ship to fully enjoy the landscapes. Expected departure in 5 minutes? We take the opportunity to play browsers by remembering a few little rules to know… So: starboard, is it left or right?

Discover the beauty of the landscapes from the waves
That's it, we hear the roar of the propellers accelerating in the water! The foam becomes more and more intense, and the boat begins to move from left to right. What a joy to see the sparkling eyes of the children!
The captain makes a first rotation to place the ship and quickly puts himself in the axis of navigation... Let's go for a boat trip 3 hours on the Rance between Dinan and Dinard (and St-Malo). As much to say to you that it is a beautiful stroll through the Rance valley who awaits us!
Fortunately, we had thought of the camera: the landscapes that we cross during our cruise on the Rance are beautiful. To better understand the scenery passing by, our guide comments on our walk…

Admire the heritage from the Rance
From the river, the Dinan city center gives us a whole new perspective! So with the children, we have fun recognizing the places we have already visited, such as the Dinan Castle or the Clock Tower located in the heart of the city.
The more the Rance widens, the more we realize the beauty of the picture before our eyes. Our guide points out to us the locks on one side, then the pretty little fishing villages bordering the river: that of Saint-Suliac is even part of most beautiful villages in France in Brittany!
At the end of the cruise on the Rance, we see the Solidor Tour and the famous rock of the Virgin of Bizeux that mark our arrival at Saint-Malo !

Sail on the Rance by kayak
The day of ride on the Rance continues ! We decide to continue with an afternoon aboard a kayak ! To choose our boats, the rental point is in the same place, and that's good!
heading for thenautical school which is located at port of dinan. Here we have the possibility to rent kayak, canoes or alternatively paddles : a good idea for an activity to do with friends next time.
But for this time, we decide to strengthen our arms by climbing aboard a kayak for a walk of about 1 hour in the Rance valley ! If we loved this morning's cruise, the kayaking on the Rance is an experience to do absolutely if you are not afraid of coming back wet!
Paddle left, paddle right... Kids learn to handle the little boat while parents try to remember how to turn.
To end the day well, we race to get back to the port of dinan… And we end, (for some) wet from head to toe! What a moment of laughter!
