The Remparts festival, kesako? 

Shows, workshops, chivalry tournaments, medieval market, balls, grand parade… the town of Dinan rediscovers its customs of yesteryear to offer us a timeless parenthesis. Recognized as one of the great medieval festivals in Europe, the Remparts Festival makes us (re)discover the Middle Ages and the heritage of Dinan through a festive and warm atmosphere, costumed visitors and locals and many activities that make this meeting a real success!

Many activities in the four corners of the city …

The party begins with a prelude of two days rich in activities: workshops, conferences, concerts and role-playing games and exhibitions that will delight young and old!

During the weekend and throughout the historic center, the atmosphere will be festive: parades, balls, a large parade and a gigantic medieval market bringing together more than 100 craftsmen on the main squares of Dinan. To enliven the historic center and guide us to the entertainment sites, Dinan will see curious characters wandering around, including a hilarious street crier and an articulated gargoyle! Many musicians will also settle in the various squares of the city to bring this medieval atmosphere so dear to the city of Dinan and to the Festival of the Remparts. Many shows and concerts will also take place in the evening to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Festival with dignity.

- At Jardin Anglais and in the gardens of the media library : reconstruction of a Dinan fair in the XNUMXth century, events and historical reconstructions, theater shows, music concerts, medieval games, discovery of medieval crafts and other surprises. The bravest can learn about sword fighting and discover a XNUMXth century Viking camp.

- The Small Fosses Walk : theatrical, musical and craft events, theatrical robbery show and an immersive camp around Dinannese life in the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries will complete the rich program of this entertainment site. 

The equestrian show will take place this year on the Place Duguesclin, in the historic center of Dinan and will present to the general public a key moment in the history of the Constable of France and Navarre: Bertrand Duguesclin's fight against Thomas of Canterbury on the very spot where it was held in 1359.
